RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – Roughly a thousand Conservative supporters packed a Richmond hotel ballroom to welcome party leader Stephen Harper as he made his first election campaign stop in Metro Vancouver.

Harper spent most of the hour going over what he believes are his government’s accomplishments over the last four years.

He focused his speech on job creation, benefits for families, and other fiscal matters; things he feels his opponents won’t be able to carry on.

“Let Thomas Mulcair and Justin Trudeau explain how they are going to conjure tens of billions of dollars of promised new spending out of thin air. We Conservatives will continue to stand for our proven record, a balanced budget, lower taxes, and sound economic management.”

He took jabs at both the Liberal and NDP leader on everything from economic policy to home security.

“If you can’t bring yourself to call jihadist terrorism what it is, you cannot be trusted to confront it and you cannot be trusted to keep Canadians safe.”

“Let Mulcair and Justin explain why our security agencies should have their powers weakened and have their hands tied. Why Canada should pull out of the international coalition fighting ISIS? We Conservatives will stand by our allies,” he explains.

Harper adds he won’t be pulling out troops abroad.
