VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Conservative Party is set to release its fully-costed platform today, and you can expect security to be a little tighter when leader Stephen Harper speaks in Richmond this morning.
Protesters disrupted a Harper event in Surrey last night — and that wasn’t the only trouble on the Tory campaign trail.
As Harper started this latest swing through Metro Vancouver, the Conservative leader attended a private function, hosted by craft brewer Red Truck Beer in East Vancouver yesterday.
That untapped a lot of anger from local beer lovers on social media.
Twitter was full of angry comments from people who said Red Truck had lost their business for supporting Harper.
Never drinking @RedTruckBeer again. Invited Harper to give a stump speech at the Brewery? Thanks but no thanks. #BarbaricCulturalPractices

@RedTruckBeer i'll be pouring a #redtrucklager out for my homie Jack later, since I can't drink a beer of a Harper supporter #stopharper

Red Truck tried to put out the fire.
It was all business to our knowledge. They were only using our brewery as a meeting space, not for social purposes. https://t.co/kWoIJSOVLg

@LegendofLindros We do not identify with any political ideology. We are all about craft beer. #independentlyminded https://t.co/ihaIYkJO5g

We are also hosting a liberal event at our our brewery next week. As mentioned earlier, we are a community space. https://t.co/wFgvfl792e

Meanwhile, three environmental protesters were quickly ejected from another Harper event in Surrey last night. The Conservative leader is in Richmond this morning for a major announcement.
