CALGARY (NEWS 1130) – An internet battle is brewing over the naming of the Calgary International Airport.
A petition was started to rename YYC International after outgoing prime minister Stephen Harper.
Soon after, a counter petition was started to voice opposition to the idea.
Early results show a sizable lead opposing the renaming of the airport.
R. Curtis Mullen, a transplanted Canadian now living in the U-S, created the original petition on Sunday to change the name.
Someone identifying himself as Pierre Poutine from Saskatchewan said he was in favour of “renaming the Calgary landfill and-or sewage treatment plant after the greatest leader since Monica Lewinsky was president.”
